Today, the League finally came back to the table with a wage proposal. Unfortunately, that’s where the good news ended. The proposal was for the following: a $750 (pre-tax) bonus as of 10/1/21, a 1% wage increase on 10/1/22 and 1% wage increase on 10/1/23. No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you—that was the proposal.
As far as we are concerned, they could have kept that weak proposal. We first introduced our proposal in July, and it took them a month and a half to come back with something that turned out to be a slap in the face.
How would they feel if we only cared for 1% of our patients? How would they like it if only 1% of us showed up for work tomorrow? Management continues to show us that they aren’t taking us seriously. So, now it’s time for us to show them.
We are going to take our powerful voices right up to their doorstep. We will rally at our Mass Mobilization at Columbus Circle on September 22, and show them it’s time to stop playing around with our lives and our livelihoods
All last year they called us heroes. They act as if they’ve forgotten all that—but we know that’s by design! Enough said. Now it’s time for them to MEET 1199!
